You’ve probably heard the phrase, “God will never give you more than you can handle.” And while this sounds catchy and encouraging,
it isn’t really Biblical

The truth is that God will give us more than we can handle on our own strength so that we have to lean on Him, not ourselves to endure the hard circumstances.

He is the strength that gets us through.

Believing that God won’t give you more than you can handle is actually counterintuitive. God never wants us to be self-reliant or to grit down and do it alone. He wants us to be fully dependent on Him, and sometimes the only way to get us to that point is to give us more than we can handle so we will surrender

And while that hurts when it happens, it’s in those overwhelming hardships that we can experience God’s greatest power and deepest love.

He’s not trying to hurt you. He’s trying to lead you closer to Him and show you a better way to live.
